It is run by Colin MacConnachie, a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. He has considerable experience in Interpretation and Learning in Scotland including fourteen years as Head of Learning and Interpretation with the National Trust for Scotland.
He has taken a leading role in the development of the Learning, Interpretation or Fundraising elements in many major national projects including:

Interpreting wildlife and the natural environment is a speciality of the company.
Hoopoe has worked closely with organisations such as NatureScot, RSPB, Historic Environment Scotland, The National Galleries of Scotland, National Nature Reserves, The National Trust for Scotland, The Heritage Lottery Fund and various regional councils and government agencies.
